Bath ART-AI PhD Conference Keynote
On 4th November, the University of Bath annual CDT conference for AI took place at the M-Shed in Bristol. Rob Wortham delivered the keynote talk ‘AI Governance: The State of Play’. In his talk, Rob presented the work of the AI Assurance Club and outlined some of its recent achievements.

Syeda Zahra joins as Head of Research, AI
We are delighted that Syeda Gulnoor Zahra has joined as our new Head of Research, AI. Syeda is a PhD candidate at the University of Bath’s Centre for Doctoral Training in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent Artificial Intelligence (ART-AI). She has also previously worked with the AI Assurance team at the Responsible Technology Adoption Unit (RTA), formerly known as the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation (CDEI).

Contribution to World AI Conference Shanghai
John Higgins addressed delegates at the World AI Conference in Shanghai in July 2024 on the subject of global trends in AI governance and assurance. John talked about developments in the underlying AI standards and about the challenges organisations are facing integrating the compliance requirements of horizontal regulation with long established sector-specific vertical requirements.
