John Higgins talking at WIC 2025

On November 9th, John Higgins hosted the launch ceremony for the Global AI Standards Development Report at the World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit - produced by an expert sub-committee that John co-chairs, and supported by a team from WIC. The report describes the current global landscape and trends for AI standards development, the challenges faced and includes some recommendations for the main stake-holders. A copy of the report will be made available for download shortly.

John also presented at the WIC forum on AI innovation and governance. He outlined the benefits of improved harmonisation of global AI governance such as lower compliance costs and increased confidence in AI – both of which help more people and economies to safely enjoy the benefits of AI. John set out the International AI Governance Association’s contribution to reducing fragmentation and achieving a more harmonised global approach.
